We answer within two working days. Tell us which mailbox provider you use and what you saw, and it will be sorted faster.

Getting started

Connecting a mailbox

On the You tab, tap Add account, then the +, then Google or another provider. Google opens its own sign-in screen; nothing is shared with Maily until you allow it there.

Maily brings over the last three months to start with, which takes a few minutes on a busy mailbox. Older mail stays searchable in your provider.

A mailbox that is not Gmail

Choose the IMAP option and enter the address. Maily suggests the server settings for common providers and checks both receiving and sending before it saves anything. Your password goes to the iOS Keychain and never to our servers.

Some providers — Yahoo and iCloud among them — need an app password rather than your normal one. Your provider's account settings will have a page for creating one.

The AI features

What they do

Maily sorts each message into a category, writes a one-line summary of what it asks of you, answers questions about your own mail, and drafts replies. You can add categories of your own and describe in plain words what belongs in them.

Turning them off

Settings → AI. With sorting and summaries off, no message content leaves your phone at all, and the inbox, search, reading and sending carry on working.

Auto-Reply

Off unless you turn it on. When on, it answers only messages it is confident about, within a limit you set per hour, never twice in one conversation, and it notifies you every time it sends. You can stop it at any moment.

Billing

Plans

Maily is free to use. Pro and Max add more AI for heavier inboxes and more connected mailboxes. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.

Cancelling

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us. Cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them ourselves, but write to us if something went wrong and we will help.

"You have used your allowance"

Each plan includes a monthly amount of AI use. When it runs out the AI features pause until the next month; reading, sending and search are unaffected. The Usage screen under You shows how much is left.

Your data

Deleting one mailbox

Settings → Sign out of this mailbox. Its mail, cached photos and preferences are removed from the phone and Maily's access to it ends. Your mail itself is untouched.

Deleting your account

You → Edit profileDelete account. This removes your Maily account and everything we hold about you — settings, conversations, what it remembers, and every connected mailbox on the phone. It cannot be undone, and your mail stays with your provider.

You can also remove Maily's access from your Google account permissions page at any time.

What is kept where

Your messages are stored on your phone, not on our servers. The privacy policy sets out exactly what we hold and why.
